Objective #2 Identify informational needs of schools regarding HIV/AIDS and disseminate information that addresses those needs.
Action Steps
  1. Using existing survey data, identify informational gaps. Coordinate with the CDC on the School Health Information Planning Program (SHIPP).
  2. Identify public and private agencies and groups that have developed HIV-related materials appropriate for school-based programs.
  3. Catalog and distribute information on these resources. Establish process to inform schools about resources available to address HIV/AIDS education and prevention.
  4. Provide schools with information on Federal resources. Prepare publication on the relationship between HIV/AIDS to drug use.
  5. Meet with the National Coordinating Committee and the Interagency Committee on School Health to assist in identifying areas of need and publicizing the availability of resources.
