Objective #1

Provide counseling, education and treatment for prisoners.

Action Steps
  1. Conduct random HIV testing on 10% of newly incarcerated inmates. Provide pre- and post-test counseling for inmates.
  2. Conduct HIV tests on new inmates where clinically indicated, provide HIV training and education for all newly committed inmates during their admission and orientation.
  3. Provide additional HIV and infectious disease-related training annually to each incarcerated inmate who has a job-related potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
  4. Provide health care for inmates.
