Information on the President's proposal to

REPAIR, RENOVATE AND RENEW OUR SCHOOLS

One of the central themes of the President's State of the Union address and of his agenda for the nation this year is how to build on the strong economy we enjoy today to create opportunity and prosperity for all Americans in the future.

Insuring that all children have access to quality education is an important is a central element of the President's agenda to reach that goal. The President's education agenda includes proposals to: expand Head Start; promote early learning; fix failing schools and reward good ones; reduce class sizes and make schools smaller; improve school safety and improve teacher quality and training.

Another of the President's education initiatives described in more detail here, is the proposal to repair, renovate and renew our nation's public schools.
