On Monday, the President will deliver a major address on U.S.-China relations at Beijing University, which is celebrating the centennial anniversary of its founding in 1898. It is China's oldest and most prestigious institution of modern higher education and has played an important role in developing China's leaders in the 20th century. Beijing University currently has an enrollment of approximately 20,000 students, more than 40 departments, and a faculty of about eight thousand.

The President will proceed to the American Embassy in Beijing, where he will meet and make remarks to the embassy staff. The President departs for Shanghai in the evening.
