The first panel will be chaired by Jessica Tuchman Mathews, who is a heroine of mine. Jessica is one of the few people who foresaw the interconnections among these various issues, who saw national security as not being simply a matter of weapons and arms control, but as encompassing a large number of global issues I am very pleased to introduce Jessica, who will introduce her first panel.
