At my request, the President's Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology has reviewed the Interim Report of the National Science Board on Environmental Science and Engineering for the 21st Century. Peter Raven and John Holdren led this very thoughtful effort, which includes advice to me on how the National Science and Technology Council should address the report's recommendation on reevaluating the government's environmental R&D portfolio. I hope you find the PCAST comments useful as you prepare the final report.
