Objective #2 To match volunteers from the National Senior Service Corps with persons living with HIV and AIDS for respite care and other services.
Action Steps
  1. Through the Foster Grandparent program, provide foster and respite care, as well as counseling and living assistance for children with HIV/AIDS.
  2. Through the Senior Companion Program, provide some persons living with HIV and AIDS with volunteers for respite care and living assistance.
  3. Continue to provide some persons living with HIV and AIDS with health and nutrition services and respite care from the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.
Description
An example of a program provided by senior volunteers includes a program in Indianapolis where seniors visit people living with AIDS who are confined to a hospice.
