- BILL TITLE: Electronic Benefit Transfer Interoperability and Portability Act
- BILL PURPOSE: The purpose of S.1733 is to allow
individuals living in States with
EBT systems to redeem their food stamp benefits in any authorized food store anywhere
in the country.
- OMB ESTIMATE: S. 1733 provides full Federal
funding for the first $500,000 of direct
costs each year for switching and settling interstate transactions associated with the bill.
States will spend additional funds that will be partially reimbursed at the regular rate for
allowable administrative costs.
